Steve Tulenheimo is a fully qualified and accredited driving instructor, bringing over 23 years of professional driving experience to his work with learner drivers.
Prior to becoming a driving instructor, Steve spent more than two decades as a professional bus driver with Sydney Buses. This background has given Steve a deep understanding of road safety, risk awareness, and defensive driving, as well as what it takes to remain calm, focused, and responsive in complex traffic situations.
Steve is known for his patient, calm, and encouraging teaching style. He prides himself on being meticulous, highly organised, and attentive to detail, with a strong belief in structured learning, clear routines, and building confidence step by step. He tailors each lesson to the student’s individual needs, learning style, and confidence level, ensuring that learners feel supported, capable, and in control as their skills develop.
Steve is particularly well suited to working with nervous or anxious learners, mature-age students, and those who need a calm, structured, and reassuring approach to learning to drive.
In addition to his professional driving career, Steve has been an active member of the Little Bay community for over 25 years. He is a family man with three adult sons and has coached junior soccer for five years at the Pagewood Soccer Club. He holds a current Working With Children Check and has extensive experience working with young people in supportive, developmental roles.
Steve has also been formally recognised for his outstanding customer service, receiving a Premier’s Public Service Award during his time with Sydney Buses—reflecting his professionalism, reliability, and commitment to high standards.
