Adam Seifman, the founder of Elevate Driver Academy, is an Eastern Suburbs local and an accredited driving instructor for both automatic and manual cars.
Adam has spent his entire life in and around cars and is passionate about driving. As a child, he helped in his father's garage and spent weekends at the race track. When Adam was old enough to get his licence, he continued to indulge his passion for driving, undertaking numerous defensive driving courses and participating in closed race track sessions.
Adam’s experience as a professional bus driver and a former paramedic has led to a deep understanding of the importance of defensive driving and what it takes to be a confident, competent and safe driver. He teaches the importance of defensive driving techniques such as patience, quick thinking, planning ahead, anticipation and problem solving. As a father of 3 who is teaching his own children how to drive, he understands that new drivers need time and patience to hone their skills. Adam tailors lesson programs that align with each students capability and confidence.
Adam understands the importance of ensuring that the student is relaxed and comfortable when learning a new skill, so he is open to having parents, guardians, or friends attend lessons if that will lead to the best learning outcomes. Please let Adam know if others will attend the lesson as he will ensure the appropriate lesson plan is developed.
Adam also understands parents/guardians want to teach their kids the right techniques. He encourages parents to attend a lesson to ensure they reinforce what they learn during their lessons. Many parents find they pick up useful tips and tricks that they can use when teaching their own kids!
Adam specialises in working with students who have a mental health diagnosis such as anxiety, ADHD, bi-polar or other issues that may affect their driving. Adam also works with students who have physical impairments such as amputations, vision or hearing impairments.
Adam is a member of the Australian Drivers Training Association (ADTA), has a Working with Children Check certificate and has full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
- Certificate IV in Car Driving Instruction
- Medium Rigid (MR) licence
- Years of on-road experience in many different capacities and situations
- Former Paramedic with experience in emergency driving under ‘Lights and Sirens’
- Experience driving 50 seater buses and off road four-wheel driving
- There isn't much Adam hasn’t experienced behind the wheel!
- Completed the Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation Course through the Institute of Driver Health, which allows Adam to work with Occupational Therapy Driver Assessors and teach students who have physical or mental health impairments.
